Repeater Site

All active W4TRC machines transmit from the shared amateur site on Bays Mountain / Holston River Mountain above Kingsport, roughly a thousand feet above downtown.

  • Location: Bays Mountain near Kingsport, TN
  • Tower: 65-foot structure added in 2021 to push antennas above the treeline
  • Power: Commercial mains with solar + battery backup for emergency operation
  • Access: Secure shared site that also hosts regional broadcast services
